David Noonan is an Australian artist who lives and works in London. He received his BFA in 1989 from Ballarat University College and his MFA in 1992 from Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne. His work was shown at Tate Modern in 2006.
He has produced works in a range of media including painting, photography, film, print-making, tapestry, collage and sculpture. He has compiled an enormous and eclectic image archive from ancient tapestries to digital media. From this he carefully selects images that he manipulates and reconstructs into barely recognisable reinventions of time present or past.
His work is in the permanent collections of numerous museums in Australia and internationally.
