Eve Armstrong

Eve Armstrong was born in 1978. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Elam at Auckland University in 2003 and was an inaugural recipient of the Arts Foundation of NZ New Generation Award.

Her practice involves the use of found and discarded materials and objects including cardboard, packing tape and paper. She uses everyday objects and arranges them in a collage format. Rather than introducing new materials to her work she considers the unwanted surpluses of our urban life.

Whether assembling urban scraps with packing tape or creating a trading table for the exchange of objects, skills, ideas and information, she reimagines the form, function, and value of material and disused things.
