Jade Fadojutimi is a young artist who graduated in 2017 from The Royal College of Art London. Her work has already been bought by the Tate in London and her career as an artist seems to be on a huge upward trajectory.
As a child she developed a huge interest in anime (hand drawn and computer generated animation from Japan) which is now the primary influence in her work.
Her work combines abstract and figurative elements in compositions that have intense graphic energy. She says the paintings are her diary, expressing trauma and pain, but also joyful connections with other people, and with nature. Of her recent work she says she wanted to see whether a painting could express a life force in the same way a tree does.
