Peter Madden is a graduate of Elam at the University of Auckland with a Master of Fine Arts in 2002.
He uses images and photographs from old editions of National Geographic and reworks and assembles them using a montage technique into works he calls ‘time crystals’. Each new picture, object and installation he makes has subtle changes from the last. He has been described as a master of collage and uses a watchmaker level of detail and intensity to create layered and complex images.
Peter is represented by a leading Auckland gallery and his work is represented in many public and private collections.
