Korean born Seung Yul Oh moved to New Zealand in 2003. He graduated with a Masters of Fine Art from Elam School of Fine Arts at Auckland University in 2005.
His work is widely varied and incorporates painting, video, installation, sculpture and performance. His art practice is intentionally playful and whimsical as he toys with scale to redefine ordinary objects. He has completed a number of public artworks including over-sized noodles held up by giant chopsticks and larger than life eggs installed around a retail precinct.
Seung Yul Oh exhibits widely in the Asia Pacific region and his work is held in many private and public collections including The Museum of New Zealand -Te Papa.
